    Summer work FAQ:

Who can apply for this programme?

Anyone aged 15 to 18 who’s motivated, reliable, and ready to learn. You don’t need any experience or qualifications — just a good attitude and a willingness to get stuck in.

    Is the training really free?

Yes — completely free. The training runs from 25th to 29th May 2026 and is designed to get you ready for paid work starting 21st July. You won’t be charged a penny.

Do I get paid for the training week?

No — the training itself is unpaid, but it’s your entry point to the summer job. Once the course is completed, successful trainees will be offered paid summer work on real construction sites.

What kind of work will I be doing?

You’ll gain hands-on experience in areas such as groundworks, formwork, and site safety. It’s real work — outdoors, physical, and practical — but always with supervision and support.

Do I need to bring anything?

Just yourself — and a positive attitude. We’ll provide all equipment, PPE (personal protective equipment), and training materials. If you’re selected for paid work, we’ll make sure you’re site-ready.

    Information for Parents & Guardians

We understand the importance of providing young people with safe, structured, and meaningful opportunities — especially when it comes to their first work experience.

Our free training course, running from 25th–29th May 2026, is designed to prepare 15–18-year-olds for real construction work over the summer. It’s hands-on, fully supervised, and focused on building both confidence and practical skills.

Construction is physical by nature, and part of the learning process involves working with tools, materials, and equipment in active environments. While every precaution is taken to maintain a safe working space, minor scrapes and the occasional bump come with the territory — just as they would in any active outdoor setting or physical sport.

Once training is complete, successful participants will be offered paid summer work starting 21st July, with full PPE (except boots), on-site mentors, and ongoing support.

We aim to provide a positive, challenging, and rewarding introduction to the working world — whether that leads to a future career in construction or simply a valuable summer experience.
