LTC Week 2

This week see’s the start of the second week of our Pre-employment Programme with our partners at Lower Thames Crossing. After a successful first weel, candidates will be honing their skills for their CSCS test at the end of the week as well as gaining some accredited qualifications like EUSR, Fire Warden and their Slinger Signaller tickets. Good luck to all, our trainers will get you up to speed and ready for work.

Southfields Careers Fair

Tuesday we have been invited down to Southfields Academy to attend their Careers Fair. With all the different year groups attending throughout the day, it gives us a chance to show students what OHOB has to offer in terms of career paths into construction, detailing which trades we do and part with any advice we have to give when entering the working world.

Construction Youth Trust – Meet the Employer

Wednesday we are attending a Meet the Employer Session being run by the Construction Youth Trust. Meeting young individuals who are keen to get into a career in Construction, we will be there to promote the different trades OHOB has, part with industry knowledge and answer any questions that anyone attending has. Thanks to CYT for inviting us down.

Walworth Academy – Construction Industry Session

Thursday we are down at Walworth Academy giving two Construction Industry Sessions, one to year 10 and one to year 11 students along side Construction Youth Trust. The sessions give us a chance to tell students in depth the different roles that lie available for them in Groundworks & RC Framework. We look forward to meeting the young individuals and helping them understand what it takes to work in construction.

Training

This week at OHOBTA we have the following training booked in – Slinger Signaller, Confined Space, Working at Height & Harness, Fire Warden, Dumper & Plant & Vehicle Marshal. Good luck to all those booked in.
